Join an informal conversation with other displaced scholars, writers, artists, and rights defenders. Our special guest is Dr. Funmilola Ayeni of Nigeria, a microbiologist who undertook IIE Scholar Rescue Fund fellowships at Vassar College in New York in 2019-2021.

Dr. Ayeni has her undergraduate and graduate education at Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria and University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria respectively. She is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health, Indiana University, Bloomington, IN. Her research focus is on the use of food as medicine in combating bacterial antibiotic resistant strains and the influence of various factors on the human microbiome.
