Developing a professional resume

October 24 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm EDT

Many resumes are ”career obituaries,” merely listing employment history and task lists. They are not going to get you interviews. This is a hands-on workshop that will teach you how to identify and articulate your accomplishments and your impact in the organizations for which you have worked or volunteered.

You will learn how to build and sequence the presentation of your accomplishments, tailored for each specific opportunity. We will discuss the use and misuse of AI to “write” your resume, as well as formatting that ensures that your document will be read by employers’ applicant tracking systems.

Workshop leader Carol R. Anderson is a senior career strategy coach for graduate students and alumni at The New School, and in private practice assists job seekers and career changers. She has expertise assisting mature workers, those seeking career re-entry, and foreign-born professionals. Carol was formerly a director of career development for The New School’s Milano School of Management, Policy and the Environment.
